Photography has played a huge part in the lives of both Jenny and Colin for many years.
For Jenny it probably started with a trip to Canada in 1988. A picture taken there of Medicine Lake pushed her to going to the local camera club, a very male-dominated group, but where she was to meet Colin who had been an active member of the club for some years.
Working up from point and shoot type cameras and developing film in the cellar darkroom, both now shoot with Canon 5D # II and all digital images.
Both have a love to take pictures over a wide range of subjects and are honoured to see our photos on many websites.
A natural outlet for practising our skills is of course taking photos around the shows. We've all been there showing our dogs and never having a record of that win or seeing how our dogs look in the ring and, because we are in the ring, we can't also be taking a picture! With that comes great responsibility to ensure that photographs shared show the dog in a good light. Its not so easy to match that to the handlers skills or that look on your face! You all know what we mean!
We love to share our pictures with you and because we feel that charging for the pictures makes it a business and not a hobby, we have not charged. However the price of cameras and the risk taking them to shows, not just the risk of theft, but just getting damaged, means that the equipment is insured costing best part of £300 per annum. Then there is the editing software which has an annual charge.
Sooner or later it might be necessary to start charging for downloads - sorry!
For some of the larger albums of photos, I now share them on Pixieset as it makes it easier for you to download a full size image that looks far better if you opt to use them in adverts etc. I will attach a couple of links to some of the recent albums below. Photos will not be able to remain on here indefinitely due to space available so please do download and keep any images you wish to retain.
